It's a great song but I believe it was first written and performed by Tom Waits. Waits has a very distinctive voice to say the least, so it's hard for me to really enjoy this version as much as others who posted who aren't as familiar with the original. Can't wait for the new songs written by Seger and performed by the silver Bullet to come out. C U on tour.

I LOVED it... sounded like the old Seger that I can not live without.

Been a fan for over 30 years and their music makes up most of the soundtrack to my life. My wife and I see many, many bands each year so I didn't know what to expect when we purchased tickets to see them in Houston about 3 years ago. Could they still bring it after being off for so long ? Man was I blown away. No props, no explosions, no frills. Just that man, his emotions, his heart, his soul, and that voice. The SB band was tight and crisp. I traveled through time that evening and loved every minute of it. I wondered if they would ever return and boy am I excited to learn that they're now touring again. I bought the ticket limit for their upcoming Houston show just to be able to share the experience with a few close friends. Thanks Bob (and the band) for making another go of it. We look forward to seeing you pour it all out on stage again and us giving it right back to you. May the echoes of the amplifiers ring in our collective heads!

Seger sounds great, but common, a cover song? And it doesn't stand up to Rod Stewarts version at all! Write your on stuff Bob, or at least use original songs by other writers. If this album is all covers - toss it out!

Done in true Seger Fashion. I grow up with Seger as my brother is 11 years older then me and a huge Seger fan. I remember listening to Live Bullet as a kid. When I was first married I took my wife, my niece and my nephew to see Bob in Buffalo. I took my daughter to see Bob that last time he was in Toronto. I can't wait to see him in Toronto again. He is truely a legend. He is the only other performer I would have killed for front row tickets to. I seen KISS from the front row but was unable to do the same for Seger. The last time I saw him in Toronto I could only get two seats that were about 4 rows apart. I sold my good tickets and bought worst tickets from a scalper so that me and my daughter could sit together. Was not happy giving up the better seats, but to have the experience with my daughter was priceless. LOVE you Bob. Please continue doing what you do. You are truely an amazing performer. I saw Bob Segar in Columbus 4 years ago with my parents, white hair, glasses, black t-shirt...first second of hearing his voice, brought me back to 11 yrs.old and my first concert with mom and dad in Buffalo, NY. As another had mentioned, Rod Steward stole the idea of doing this remake of Tom Waits song from Bob. I was expecting to see tons of people.No one there. I'll never forget that day. When I heard you were in town, I told my boss I had to go to lunch right then. I knocked over his coffee cup on his desk because I was so excited !! He told me "Just leave". I was able to get into the station lobby, and was told I could not be there, had to go into the hallway. As I turned around to walk out the door, there you were!!!!! OMG !! Best Memory of my life !!!! I got to sit with you a few minutes and chat, told you of how in High School I wanted to visit you in Michigan with my friends and play frisbee topless in your lawn to get your attention. Front row, center stage in Saginaw and again at the Palace and Cobo. Can't get enough!!!! You were my wife's first concert. n your last tour, you became our daughter's first convert and now our 7 1/2 year old son is coming to see you for his first concert! My son couldn't yet talk very well, but he knew the words to Katmandu. You've lived on with us all through generations. I won't be at the Detroit show, because of work, but if you could, dedicate Katmandu to Spencer for his first concert on May 19th! Rock on forever Bob!
